From october 9 2010 till januar 9 2011 the Biennale Gelderland "O Fortuna" 2010 took place in Museum het Valkhof in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. Tiziana Nespoli curated the exhibition based on the subject of coincidence. 33 contemporary artists were invited to get involved. Jeroen Huisman showed 12 photoworks from his fragmented city series, in which he searches for a specific urban imagery that copes with his personal urge to see the results of citylife as little or isolated as it can get. Being purely an urban walking photographer he is very aware of the factor coincidence in his work. He in fact needs to walk into his images, by surprice, as an almost physical experience.
